Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero was an American model and a vocalist. She is also the co-star of Prince's 1984 film, Purple Rain. Kotero is famous for her role as co-star in the film of Prince's Purple Rain and for having been the lead singer of the group of girls Apollonia 6. She was one of several female performers who gained from Prince's partnership in the late 1980s. The actress was born Patricia Kotero in Santa Monica California in 1959, her work started as a model and actress in the late '70s with a role on the TV show CHiPS. In 1984, she was cast as the role of the lead female for Prince's Purple Rain (during which time he made a change to her name) as well as replacing Vanity as a member of the female group Vanity 6 which performed in the movie under the title Apollonia 6.
